Aunt Edna's Crazy Quilt

Lillibeth,
What do you think of this? Before Gramzie passed away, she bequeathed me a quilt made of velvet silk and here you see it still in good condition. The quilt was made by her Aunt, Gussie Edna Pennington Henderson. She made it most likely during the 1930's. She backed the quilt with cranberry colored sateen and tacked the top with traditional yarn. It's nice to have atop my bed for awhile, until my comforter is dry.

I don't think I'll be turning it into a house robe though...so don't even suggest it!

Glory and Sharon

Glory with her sister-in-law, Sharon. Glory and I are becoming fast friends. We share a lot of laughter! Today, we enjoyed a scrumptious meal with eathother and also Shilpa and Jace. Rebecca, you should have been there...you would have enjoyed the dishes Glory made and Shilpa missed you.

Lunch with Shilpa and Jace

Rebecca,
You should see Jace! He is like Zebby was when I started being his nanny. Jace is a tiny little guy, but he gets into all sorts of mischief. He was quite fascinated by my camera, cell phone and Shilpa said that he was given a small piano toy and in two hours he completely disassembled it! He certainly is mechanically inclined.
Oh, I have missed the East Indian dishes that Shilpa makes. We had a nice long visit. She asked about you many times and wanted to hear all the news from your studies. I think you might should drop her a line sometime.

Valentines All Month

Who says we can't enjoy Valentine's all February long? Little Shyann from across the street dropped by this evening to finish her embroidered craft for her Mother and to have a nice cup of hot cocoa. Mum has worked with Shyann for well over a year on a sweet little kitten motif and this evening they set it into a hoop and attached cheerful fuscia Ric-rack for trim. Sadly, I missed getting a picture of the finished product. Well done, Shyann!

Accounting Student's Coffee

A bit of coffee with milk in a nice little demitasse cup. What georgous light that comes streams through in mid morning onto my text books. I've always loved watching Poirot, the English detective. Drinking coffee from such a wee little cup makes me feel as if I could be his beloved secretary.

This Chicken Lays Apples

In Pawhuska, there is a quaint antique shop close to the Main Street and I take antiques that I find at garage sales over to the lady shop keeper. Last week, when picking up Betty Gram's meds, I traded for several items. This little chicken, I couldn't resist. At some point she may be filled with welcome guest items and given to a new neighbor. For now she sits on our breakfast table atop a vintage runner that's been stashed away for nine years. I 'm missing the country and I'm resorting of late to "use what we have" to decorate in a more vintage/retro/country style. Oh, for the days of collecting the eggs and looking out on the prairie or taking a walk down the lane!

Quilt Top Without a Name

This quilt top is needing an appropriate name. Most of the fabrics are patterned with florets, leave, or swirl designs. Any ideas?

Oregon Impressions Quilt

Lillibeth, do you remember when we were walking the beach north of the jetty and I said, "I'm going to make a quilt with the colors of the waves. I want to capture the essence of the inside of those waves."...? Well here is the finished project. I completed it in 2003. It took aproximately a month to quilt and that was working every day eight plus hours.

Heart Baby Quilt

Lillibeth, since you live so far way, I am going to post things to show you what is stashed away in you know what.
